the musings of a creative mind

Photobucket
i was watching vivienne westwood's london the other night, and as usual, i was struck by her subconcious linking of good fashion to culture and quality of life. at one point she was looking at a painting of a young boy (i believe in the national portrait gallery), and marvelled at his clothing (sharp black tailoring with fur accents, if i remember correctly?) and says something like 'if only children were allowed to still dress like that, they would have a completely different outlook on life.' such a brilliantly layered thought.

I did dress like that when I was a child.. all the time! And I think she's right.

It was an excellent documentary, wasn't it!? I watched it on the plane. My boyfriend and I are adamant that our kids will dress beautifully :)
